This is the one people cook with rather than serve alongside. Dry red chilli and garlic are ground coarse and tempered in mustard oil until the raw edge burns off. A spoon into hot dal or over a paratha does the work of a full masala.

Best enjoyed with
Use a clean, dry spoon every time and keep the oil layer covering the pickle — that layer is what preserves it. Oil separating or rising to the top is normal; stir gently before serving.

Twelve months from the batch date printed on the lid. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight — no refrigeration needed, before or after opening. Keep the jar closed between uses and never introduce moisture or a wet spoon, which is the one thing that will spoil a pickle early.
